Opening last Thursday in the Woods-Gerry Gallery, the RISD Industrial Design Senior Show was met with massive success. With s’mores being toasted outside and a plethora of food stretching throughout the front hallway, visitors entering the gallery were delighted by the variety of tasty eats as much as they were by the work that was on display. The fire pit out front was a combination of both, as Billy Shore, the student behind the piece, was happy to see it in use while toasting s’mores. Guitars hand-hewn by none other than Steven Greco were also on display, an exploration he took on this past wintersession during an independent study with wood teacher Charlie Appleton. Several chairs from the Advanced Chair Studio taught by Seth Stem also made the show, as well as other fantastic works by this year’s graduating class of 2011.
Below are some photos taken by Peter Simon from the opening night.
