This year, the Industrial Design Society of America (IDSA) will be holding their Northeast District Conference in Providence Rhode Island. The two day conference will take place April 8 – 9 and is jammed pack with fantastic speakers and events. The theme of this year’s conference is “What Do You Design4?” Meant to get designers to take the time to stop and think about what, and for whom, they design for, the theme has been starting conversations around the country — conversations that I’ve been happy to participate in.
In the days and weeks counting down to the conference, I have had the opportunity to speak with students, teachers, and professionals around the country. Asking them what exactly it is that they design for, I’ve got a plethora of responses, which I’ve been blogging about over on the IDSA website. Check out the discussion and join the conversation!
And don’t forget to register for the conference if you’ll be in the Providence area. Several great speakers will be talking on a variety of topics from Scott Wilson talking on how disruption leads to success to Charlie Cannon on lessons learned via the Innovation Studio. It is sure to be a can’t miss event. Get your tickets here and we’ll see you there.
