With three days counting, the Industrial Design Society of America’s Northeast District Conference will be taking place this coming Friday and Saturday on RISD’s campus. One of several enticing events taking place of the course of the two-day event is the Northeast Student Merit Award Presentations, which is taking place on Saturday at 11:30 am in the RISD Auditorium. Each year, design schools throughout the country choose one student to represent them for the District Merit Awards. If selected, Seidenberg will go on to represent RISD and the Northeast District at the National IDSA Conference.
After undergoing a rigorous selection process including several group presentations and one-on-one interviews, RISD has selected their student to represent the department and the school, Jackson Seidenberg (BFA ID ’11). Notorious throughout the Industrial Design department for his amazing forte in sketching, Seidenberg is also extremely proficient in a variety of software from Solidworks to Cinema4D, both of which he utilized in the exploded view of his Gameboy Redesign Project, shown in the video below.

Seidenberg works as a Sketch TA for the sophomore Design Principles Studio, as well as aids in classes giving drawing advice and tutorials to underclassman. A clear ambassador of the department and talented student, we are proud to have him represent us at the IDSA NED Conference this week. Good luck, Jackson!
