RISD by Design Alumni+Student Sale

This past weekend marked RISD‘s annual RISD by Design weekend, which welcomes both parents and alumni to the Providence campus for a wide range of activities and events. From open studios with glass blowing demos to Pumpkinpaloozas full of every baked good incorporating pumpkins imaginable, the RBD crew outdid themselves this year and made for a fantastic weekend.

Although the weather was blustery and slightly wet on Friday, the clouds cleared and made for a beautiful, sunny day on Saturday — just perfect from the Alumni+Student Sale held on Benefit Street. While many students had booths at the sale, the RISD Industrial Design students by far had the most number of booths. Below are some shots of RISD ID students at the sale and their wares.

RISD ID’s most loved ID bros selling their leather, ceramic, and metal goods (from left) Patrick O’Sullivan ’12, Brett Newman ’12, + Oliver Henderson ’12.

Wesley Chau ’13 and Jiwon Rim ’13 sold a lovely line of handcrafted soaps called WRUBBLE.

“Machined with Love” was a booth which sold machined stainless steel rings by Satoshi Sakaguchi ’13 and Lukas Scheurer ’13. The boys’ highlight of the day? A man who had lost his wedding band purchased one of their rings as a replacement to symbolize his lifelong commitment to his wife. Aww.

This fancy leather covered table belongs to none other than Owen Read ’13 and Benjamin Walsh ’13.

And the annual Alumni+Student Art Sale just wouldn’t be the same without Corey “Corigami” Comenitz ID ’13 and his paper folded delicacies.
