Continuing the ID Sketching series from last week when we spoke with Robbie Lillquist, this week we spoke with another RISD Industrial Design student. Sangho Kim BFA ID ’13 shared with us the below sketches and let us ask him a few questions about what motivates his drawing, how he approaches a sketch, and what he loves to sketch most… cars.
Kim is from Lexington, Massachusetts and is a Junior in the department.
Why did you decide to become a designer?
Because I want to change the world with my design.
What is your favorite utensil to sketch with?
Standard ballpoint pen is my personal favorite utensil to work with. They are cheap and they work great on any paper. Also it’s easy to draw different types of line weights with it. I just bought Copic Multiliner 0.5 and it’s my second favorite utensil. I love how sensitive it is.
