Born and raised in the Sunshine State, Carly Ayres is a voracious reader and writer with a healthy obsession for organizing things by color. When not welding in studio, she works as the elected President of RISD’s Student Alliance improving communications and serving the interests of the student body. She’s written articles for Core 77 and served as an editor and journalist for RISD’s All-Nighter newspaper. Recent endeavors include helping host the STEM to STEAM Congressional Briefing in D.C.

Junior Kegan Tawney grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and is a die-hard Tar Heels fan. Outside of studio hours, Kegan is likely to be catching up on his unconquerably long reading list or drawing in his sketchbook. He has an inexplicable fascination with shoes and hopes to someday learn to work with leather. Kegan is currently part of RISD’s Moonbuggy club, a group of Industrial Designer students who are building a man-powered vehicle with which to compete in NASA’s annual Great Moonbuggy Race.
